Hey guys! The other day I showed you the preview of China Glaze's Fall collection called Autumn Nights, and China Glaze kindly send me 6 of them for review, so today I have the swatches of those polishes for you. I was excited about these before I even saw the preview, to be precise from the moment I read on Love Varnish that one of them worked for stamping. You know I love finding normal polish that works well for stamping, and it's not the first time China Glaze brings out a collection that has some stamping beauties, so I was hoping this collection would have several more as well. But does it? Lets have a look at the swatches first!
All my swatches are without top coat as usual, the description of the polish comes from China Glaze.
Don't Make Me Wine
Reserve-worthy red-violet shimmer

I used 2 coats of this polish to get full coverage. I think red-violet is a good description, it's one of those warm colors that is a bit in the middle between red/purple/pink. Even though I don't wear them so often, I always find myself easily attracted to these kind of colors :)

Red-y &Willing
Frisky red shimmer

Red-y & Willing |
Another polish that covered in 2 coats. It's a pretty and warm red, and reds like this always look lovely, but it does look fairly easy dupe-able. I had a look in my stash to see what came close to some of these, but more on that further down!

Rendezvous With You
Shimmery purple affair

Rendezvous With You |
Hello there, 1-coater! I think these kind of finishes aren't the most ideal for stamping (the shimmery bits can get a bit stuck in the image and it often just doesn't transfer as pretty as some other finishes in my opinion), but I'm loving it on itself already. Because if you're in a rush and want to do a quick mani, this is a perfect polish to use, especially for Fall!

Scandalous Shenanigans
Rich blue shimmer

Scandalous Shenanigans |
I'll just repeat myself: hello there, 1-coater! ^^ It's a rich blue indeed, and this goes straight into my stamping drawer!

Strike Up A Cosmo
Sparkling rose gold shimmer

Strike Up A Cosmo |
I used 2 coats here. It's my least favorite of the bunch, because it just isn't my kind of color and I'm not too fond of polish with a foil finish. However, I do like how the golden bits are larger than the rest of the shimmer in it, and they seem to be floating on top a little! Please note though, the color often looks a bit warmer and more rosy than my pictures show, my camera captured this very light.

And what do we have here? Another 1-coater! And it's a beauty, my favorite even, can't wait to stamp with this ♥

Application: As I'm used to with China Glaze, all of these applied very well, but
Don't Make Me Wine,
Red-y & Willing,
Scandalous Shenanigans and
Tongue & Chic were a bit thicker than the other 2. I had no problems with that though, but that was something I noticed. I would definitely use top coat with these, I think they'll come more to life in normal light with top coat, plus I love the extra smooth shine of course!
Dupecheck: Not everyone has a big stash of polish, but especially for the people that do, I had a look in my stash to see what's close to 4 of these.
Don't Make Me Wine was near China Glaze Stella on the swatchsticks, but that's more purple, this one looks warmer and more red/pink compared to Stella. The only thing that I have that came really close, is a very old Catrice polish called Bordeaux Red, but it wasn't a dupe.
Red-y & Willing was closest to 2 other China Glaze polishes, Mommy Kissing Santa and Skate Night. But Mommy Kissing Santa is more red and less pink, Skate Night is closer in color but less vibrant.
Tongue & Chic was a bit darker than all comparable in my stash, and the finish is different as well than most that came close, but if I forget about the finish, it's Essence In Style and Essence Miss Universe that are closest. Lastly,
Scandalous Shenanigans, what was closest were HEMA #10 and Essence Hard To Resist (or it's dupe, Essence Midnight Date), but the last one has a slightly different finish.
To make a long story short, no dupes here! And these 4 are my top picks from those polishes as well, the rich colors, the application, no mini bottles, and...
Stampingtest: And now, the moment we've all been waiting for (or maybe not, heh), do these work for stamping? I don't think I've ever showed a test on paper before, but I'm lazy today so I went for that. Don't worry, you'll see them stamped on my nails soon as well I'm sure! :)
Look at that, yay! It doesn't show so well here, but I do think that
Red-y & Willing (middle row) will work best on a similar basecolor, that one worked the least from what I could tell after this little test. After that it's
Don't Make Me Wine, but as expected,
Scandalous Shenanigans and
Tongue & Chic worked awesome. The bottom one,
Rendezvous With You, works too, but it indeed gives a slightly sparkly plate and as you can see, the whole polish looks a lot lighter somehow. Will doublecheck on the nail sometime but I think this one might benefit as well from a similar basecolor, to get a good result.
Overall: It's a Fall collection, and I'd say this collection indeed has Fall written all over it! If you're looking for colors like this, I think these polishes are great choice. Bonus points because they work for stamping (did I already say yay? ^^). I think these will be lovely as well for those times where I'm in the mood for a more simple yet pretty mani. The collection gets me in the mood for Fall as well: warm and soft blankets, hot drinks, a cat on my lap (they do that now as well, but I rather have that when it's a bit colder, lol), a nice book, and one of these colors on my nails will do just fine :)
Right, enough blabbering, what do you think of the collection? Are you getting any of these and do they bring you in the mood for fall as well?
