Hey all! Today I have a review of China Glaze's Sea Goddess collection for you, and here's what the preview said:
"Discover the hidden treasures of the ocean this spring with China Glaze® Sea Goddess. Six vibrant matte and glistening glitters take you from the sandy, sunny shore to the depths of the sea where the mermaids play."
I don't know about you, but these do make me think of mermaids, and they also get me in the mood for Spring! With an ocean theme you could of course also go darker, I'm thinking of rich blues and coral colors, but this way it works too! The colors have this happy and playful feel to them, I think they capture the theme well :)
I used 3 thin coats for my swatches, although several of these cover fine in 2 normal coats as well. I just think the texture comes out best when using several thin coats, and letting each coat dry in between as well. I swatched each polish in daylight, sunlight and lamplight, check them out below!
Sand Dolla Make You Holla
"The tide meets the sand in this white polish filled with fine multi-colored glitter"
Sand Dolla Make You Holla is one of the softer colors, isn't it adorable and cute?
Seahorsin' Around
"Splash around in this mermaid-tail turquoise with soft gold shimmer"
This is the boldest color of the bunch, but Seahorsin' Around was a bit beyond my cam, which mainly picked up the blue in it. It's indeed more turquoise. I thought it would be my absolute favorite, which it isn't (I ended up loving some of the lighter colors more), but it still scores high!
Shell We Dance
"Flip those fins across the sea floor in this bright rose pink with silver and pink glitter"
Shell We Dance looks exactly like its description, bright rose with glitters.
Tail Me Something
"Listen carefully to the whisper of the secretive sea in this glistening light lavender"
For me Tail Me Something is the least one of the bunch, still a pretty, don't get me wrong. Just a bit less special :)
Wish On A Starfish
"Make dreams come true with a light pink and gold shimmer polish"
Wish On A Starfish is a bit warmer pink than my pics show. In case you wondered as well how it compares to Catrice Call Me Princess, in some light they're fairly similar, but in most light it shows well that CMP is a brighter polish, with a darker base that makes the shimmer (which it has more as well) stand out more. This one is the more subtle & soft one of the two.
Teal The Tide Turns
"Swim through a seaweed maze of light teal with green glitter"
Well, I'm not sure where the teal is in this green Teal The Tide Turns, but I think it's a cute color for sure!
With several of these it felt like there was salt in it, I doubt it is actual salt haha, but to give you an idea of the texture effect! Teal the Tide Turns and Sand Dolla Make You Holla showed that best, they have this white salty texture stuff in them. I don't mind it though, especially because these 2 are some of my favorites! Overall it's a cute and fun collection, nothing more, nothing less :)
Did you get any of these, and what are your favorites of this Sea Goddess collection? Thanks for looking ♥
