Mint kissed Sonya

A while ago I had a month packed with Dance Legend posts, and the coming weeks that'll be the case once more! I recently received a big box filled with polish, making me feel very lucky, followed by lots of ooohhh's and aahhh's, because they sure know how to make polish!

I'm starting with #18 from the Binary collection, a dark teal with subtle shimmer. It covered in 2 easy coats, and as far as I can tell based on my swatches; it doesn't stain at all. Yay for that! My swatches are with top coat, I used the Binary top coat from Dance Legend, and I'll be posting more about that some other time as well :)

And here's Sonya with 1 coat of Mint Kiss. Mint Kiss has lots of golden microglitter, very small white bar glitter, and white and mint blue hexagonal glitter. Again finished with Binary top coat.

You can buy Dance Legend on their website and in other webshops like Hypnotic Polish.

Thanks for looking, and in case you're wondering, Abby got adopted and moved Tuesday evening :)

4 Born Pretty plates (and 2 manis!)

Hi guys! BornPrettyStore shipped some plates to me a while ago, time to show those too. Here's what I did with them, read on for a closer look on the plates and these manis :)

Loving the snowflakes image, isn't it cute?

This must be the longest image in my collection, haha!

You know I like those floral patterns :)

Cute images in the middle, but the one on the top steals the show for me!

More on the plates below, let's have a look at what I made with them first, shall we? Starting with a mani that's bold & sparkly, holo glitters with black stamping:

Essence Hello Holo, Konad Black and Born Pretty 08

Essence Hello Holo with Konad Black and Born Pretty 08.

But of course I couldn't resist going for a mani that's a bit more like me as well :)

OPI My Vampire Is Buff with A England Virgin Queen and Born Pretty 01

OPI My Vampire Is Buff with A England Virgin Queen and Born Pretty 01.

OPI My Vampire Is Buff with A England Virgin Queen and Born Pretty 01

And yes, Virgin Queen really worked like a charm for stamping! ♥

OPI My Vampire Is Buff with A England Virgin Queen and Born Pretty 01

The plates all had the protecting blue foil at the front (which easily came off) and a thin, black cover on the back. So these ain't sharp at all. And as you can see above, the images transferred well, even some those tiny dots around the snowflakes ended up on my nails. In short, the quality looks good to me!

But... there's 2 things that I feel I need to mention here. Firstly, the images shown on the BPS site are close, but not completely the same as the images on my plates. There's a little bit variation in some of the little images, and by the looks of it, of the sizes of some images. I'm not sure which version of the plate you'd get after ordering, but since I've had these for a while (and yes, I'm sorry for not showing them sooner!), I guess it would be the ones shown on their site!

The second thing is that some of these images are a bit small and/or short. I've of course updated my stamping plate comparison, but the images I'm aiming at here are the full nail images at plate 08 (the 3 in the center are smaller than my nails, and several of them are on the short side as well) and plate 05 (wide enough, but a bit short). However, on the plates shown on their site, these images seem a lot bigger and look like a good size to me! If I find out more about these plates and what version you'd get, I'll update this post.

You can find these plates here: 01 (Christmas), 04 (dancing peacock), 05 (Egypt style) and 08 (flowers & butterfly). The plates cost $2.99 each, and with code ABJ61 you'll get 10% off.

What do you think of them? Thanks for stopping by :)

Update: Vedrana was so kind to clear things up for us, thanks dear!
"I have one of these (05) and its updated version, I also have 02 and 09 both old and new version. The ones with "born pretty" engraved and black backing are older versions and aren't sold anymore. The newer ones, the ones currently on the website, have "BP-" engraved and white backing with the name and the link of the store written over it. The images on newer ones are quite larger."

Fingers crossed for Abby!

Morning lovelies :) Just a quick fosterupdate: Abby is gonna get visitors on Tuesday already, that went so fast! I so hope it's a match and she'll finds her forever home that day! I'll post a bigger update on my fosterblog sometime soon and keep it shorter here, but she's doing absolutely fantastic. She's making little bits of progress every day, dares to show more and more of herself (and less of the snappy behaviour she showed, especially to my cats), and she's also learning that I'm not a scary thing when walking around. In fact, this morning she was sitting on the stairs and I ended up stepping over her because she wouldn't move, haha! She's really a little adult already, still has some kittenmoments but also packs plenty of character and a will of her own. Picking her up goes so much better already, and she absolutely loves to cuddle :)

I don't have as much pictures of her as I'd like, because she's a bit impressed by the camera at times, and other times she just can't sit still! She's often too busy with playing or cuddling with me :D

See, a lot of pictures end up like this! ^^

She's a pretty little lady :)

I hope for her sake that this is the last you'll be seeing of her here, but I'd miss her for sure! It's so special to see a foster improve ♥ And speaking of special, do you remember Mobi, the kitten with the amputated leg? Here's one of the posts where I showed him. I received a big update on him, he's doing awesome and looks like that too! It's really heartwarming to see how one of those tiny kittens grew up to become a healthy & happy cat with a bright future ahead of him, together with his feline friends and their wonderful home! I'm glad I could be a part of his start in life :)

I'll start swatching a bunch of Dance Legends again this week, and there's some BPS plates still waiting for review as well, so you'll see me again soon :) Have a lovely Sunday!

Something different with BPS triangle glitter

Howdy! No tone-on-tone, no subtle stamping, nothing like that... bright&bold is what I'm showing today! I started with a grey base, used tape and an orange polish to cover half the nail, and then I applied the black triangle glitters. It worked best for me to start at the tips and work my way up with them. I finished with 2 layers of top coat, but as you can tell, these glitters weren't 100% flat and are a little bit on the thick side. And my nails are a bit more rounded at the top than the sides of my nails, which makes the sides of the glitters slightly stand up from the nail. So even with those 2 layers, the result isn't as smooth as I'd like! Maybe I should apply top coat and just stick them in the wet top coat next time, and not add more on top. That usually works fine with glitters :)

Essence Got A Secret with China Glaze Papaya Punch and BornPrettyStore triangle glitters

Essence Got A Secret with China Glaze Papaya Punch and BornPrettyStore triangle glitters.

Essence Got A Secret with China Glaze Papaya Punch and BornPrettyStore triangle glitters

My camera picked up the orange better but showed the grey too light. But I took a pic with my phone to show this mani to my boyfriend, and as it turned out, my phone captured the grey well, but the orange too dark :P Instead of messing around more with my camera to get the right settings, I figured to just show both pics :) I do like the look of this mani, but I know myself well enough, glitters that stick out won't last long (can you resist picking them off?) and when a mani looks a bit thick because of the amount of layers, meh. Sooo, if I'd wear this kinda combo again, I think I'd be back to stamping, haha!

The triangle shaped glitters come in little jar like a lot of BPS glitters, and just like most of their glitters, they come in a bunch of colors as well. It felt like some glitters were thicker than others, but as I quickly found out, that was because there were several still sticking together. Rubbing them between my fingers sorted that easily! You can find the glitters here, a little jar costs $2.53, and you'll get 10% off with code ABJ61.

Hope you'll have a lovely weekend, take care!

Simple sponged & decal mani

Hey all :) I'm far behind on my BornPrettyStore reviews, time to catch up, starting with some palmtree decals! Or well, I only used leaves for this mani, but most of the decals on the sheet are palmtrees. These waterdecals are available in 2 colors, black and red/pink, and I chose the black ones. I started with a light purple base and randomly sponged 2 other purples on top, then I applied the waterdecals and finished with top coat. Here's how that turned out:

Essence No More Drama sponged with Essence Go Wild and Color Club Uptown Girl, with waterdecals from BornPrettyStore

Essence No More Drama sponged with Essence Go Wild and Color Club Uptown Girl, with waterdecals from BornPrettyStore.

Essence No More Drama sponged with Essence Go Wild and Color Club Uptown Girl, with waterdecals from BornPrettyStore

And here's how this sheet of decals looks! Aren't these trees perfect for a summery mani? You can find them here, a sheet costs $2.02 and as always, using code ABJ61 will give 10% off on your BPS order :) Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - 7 polishes swatched!

Hey guys! I recently received a bunch of Femme Fatale Cosmetics polish from a presale, and today I'd like to share those beauties with you :) As you might know, I love games and one of the games I keep playing/returning to is World of Warcraft (in fact, Oooh, Shinies! used to be a quest ingame). Although I'm currently back to playing a lot of Diablo 3! Aaaanyway, when I saw the names of these polishes, I instantly knew their inspiration, a boss fight in WoW, Yogg-Saron. And boy, did they nail the theme! I think it's a great collection, that became even better after knowing ánd recognizing the inspiration :)

It's a big post, so please click below to see more of them!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Alone In The Darkness

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Alone in the Darkness

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Alone In The Darkness

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Alone In The Darkness

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Alone In The Darkness

Alone in the Darkness is described as "a dark teal microglitters with luminescent purple shimmers", but I just think of the hardest way to kill Yoggy, haha. Either way, it's a gorgeous polish that covered in 3 thin coats. Shown with top coat here.
I love the subtle colorshifts from the shimmers!

Because the Femme Fatale website is in the process of changing their website, I'll add direct links to these polishes. You can find Alone in the Darkness here.

Brain Link is described as "a deep magenta crelly with blue shimmers and flakies". It's a very bright pink and especially the blue shimmer stands out, one of those fun pinks if you ask me :) Again 3 coats, with top coat.

You can find Brain Link here.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics All Sanity is Lost

All Sanity is Lost (which was as bad ingame as it sounds, haha) is described as "a dark teal glitter filled with silver holo & shards, red shimmers and teal highlights". It looks slightly lumpy on the macroshot, but that's just because it's a macroshot, heh. It gave a smooth result with 3 thin coats and 1 layer of top coat.
I just love looking at bottles with polish like this, it's so mesmerizing!

You can find All Sanity is Lost here.

In His House He Waits Dreaming is described as "a medium brown with turquoise shimmers and microglitters, with silver highlights". It has a sheer brown base, but it builds up nicely with 3 coats, and is shown with top coat here. The brown isn't showing as well in the bottle as you can see, but on the nail it's much more visible.

You can find In His House He Waits Dreaming here.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Stand in the Clouds

Stand in the Clouds is described as "a sheer aquamarine-green base with strong golden shimmer and golden microglitters". It's again 3 coats with top coat. When I think of the clouds ingame, I think of yellow/green clouds that sometimes glow, and they ain't sparkly, but this polish really matches its name! I'm just glad they didn't look like this ingame though, I probably wouldn't have been able to resist running into them, haha. Sparklyyy!

You can find Stand in the Clouds here.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Touch of Madness

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Touch of Madness

Touch of Madness is described as "a vibrant magenta microglitter with luminescent blue shimmers", but all those pretty little holographic sparkles ain't mentionned there. It looks a bit darker at times than on my swatches, as the bottleshot shows. In sun it looks brighter, and oh those sparkles! Unfortunately I don't have a swatchphoto in the sun, so you'll just have to take my word for it :)
This was 3 thin coats, and it does dry a little gritty, so it needed the top coat that I used here as well.

You can find Touch of Madness here.
Femme Fatale Cosmetics Under the Waters

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Under the Waters

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Under the Waters

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Under the Waters

Under the Waters is described as "a sheer blurple with soft turquoise-blue shimmer". It build up well as you can see, this was 3 coats with top coat.

You can find Under the Waters here.

All of these shades should work for layering as well, and the Femme Fatale website gives suggestions for that too. I wish I had known that in advance, I bet these all look insane over black with all that shimmer and sparkle! So you might see them again sometime :)

You can find Femme Fatale Cosmetics on social media like Facebook, and their polish is sold on various websites, including their own site. What do you think of these colors, and if you play WoW, do you also think they match the theme well? Thanks for stopping by! ♥
