Dance Legend Pina Colada & Chumash

Ready for some Summer nails? Then read on, because these polishes are perfect for that! The Dance Legend Malibu collection (from last year's Summer) consists of 8 polishes that all have different glitters in a bright base. The 2 polishes that I received, Pina Colada and Chumash, are more vibrant than my pics show - but capturing such bright colors can be hard, so please just imagine them even bolder :)

Dance Legend Chumash Pina Colada

Dance Legend Chumash Pina Colada

Chumash has a green base with tiny white glitter and square pink & yellow/green glitter, and to top it off, some larger, white diamond-shaped glitter. The tiny white glitter makes it almost a bit textured, so this polish does need the top coat to even things out. The diamond glitters did require a little fishing, but I didn't expect anything else.

Dance Legend Chumash Pina Colada

Dance Legend Chumash Pina Colada

Pina Colada has small, round, yellow glitter, orange square glitter and pink hexagonal glitter in a bright peach base. I used 3 coats of each of these, but 2 slightly thicker would work better - that would give less of a gritty effect on Chumash and a less thick result on these polishes overall. I prefer to apply thin coats, so I went with 3, but with so much glitter it's a bit hard to apply them thin!

I hope you'll have a great weekend & thanks for stopping by ♥

The Blessed Damozel - swatched & stamped!

A England added a new addition to the 'Heavenly Quotes' line, and oh my... it's purple perfection! The outstanding application of the A England polishes never ceases to amaze me, and The Blessed Damozel is no exception. It's pretty much a 1coater, although I still prefer 2 thin coats. It's rich in color, works for stamping, and well, what's not to love! I went with some basic stamping, but it almost feels a bit like it's unworthy of this polish as base, I mean, look how TBD looks on itself! ♥

A England The Blessed Damozel with Bundle Monster BM-702 and Kiko 622 Wisteria

A England The Blessed Damozel

This is 2 thin coats of The Blessed Damozel with top coat, which it does need to make it shine. It's a dark purple that leans a lot to the blue side, and often looks really dark, but never looks black. And in case you have Avalon, another purple prrrretty by A England, these 2 aren't close. Avalon is lighter, brighter and leans a bit more red.

A England The Blessed Damozel

A England The Blessed Damozel

The Blessed Damozel works wonderful for stamping, but in this case I stamped on top with a floral image. The stamping polish is a tad more blue, but this polish gave me a hard time to begin with, so I stopped trying to capture both the polish ánd the stamping polish right :)

Sub-Zero stamped

Yesterday I mentionned the stamped Sub-Zero mani that I took off again because a few nails turned blue (and I didn't realize yet that it was a thermal polish), but because I do like how it looked when it was dark, I wanted to share it anyway :)

I picked the stamping color to go with the shimmer in the polish, but I don't think it matches the warm/blue as well (which you can see more of in this post). Next time I'll use Dance Legend Bogeyman if I want to create a similar mani! And I just love the image that I used here, I can see myself using it a lot!

And because I think macroshots can be so pretty to look at... :) This was without the matte top coat obviously. But looking at the whole mani, it really needed the matte top coat if you ask me, it can make such a difference in how the finished mani looks! I remember when I just started with this blog, I think there were barely any matte top coats available. It's a good thing that has changed, don't you think? :)

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

Hey hey :) It's time for a little story, because this polish made me feel quite stupid, haha! I applied this, swatched it, and stamped on it, but while I was photographing the stamped mani, I had some weird reaction and some nails started to color a bit blue?! That didn't match well with the stamping, so I took it all off again, and planned on asking you guys if you knew what could've happened, was it caused by any of the top coats I used and did you ever have such a weird thing happening on your nails? Until I saw other swatches of it and realized it was a thermal polish... Lol!
I didn't realize I had such cold fingers the day I swatched it, oops :D To my defense, I can't even remember the last time I wore a color changing polish, that must be years ago! ^^ But of course I did swatch it again and tried out the effect with some help of a cup of tea, so this post is a little bit more packed with photos than originally planned!

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

Sub-Zero is one of the 3 polishes of the Mortal Kombat collection by Dance Legend, and it's another dark, flaked and shimmery matte polish, just like Bogeyman. Sub-Zero is packed with a colorshifting shimmer, it looks reddish-brown most of the time, but on the macro shots you can see it shift to green near the edges. Add green/blue shifting flakies and you got yourself a pretty! And it covered in 2 easy coats ♥

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

Of course I couldn't resist slapping on some top coat as well, and here's how that looks:

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

The flakes are quite bright, as the macroshot below shows better. Isn't it stunning?

And here it is, swatched again, warming up after meeting the freezer :) Pinkie hit my tea on the tip!

Warming up some more...

And fully warmed up!

Dance Legend Sub-Zero

It stays a fun effect, and makes your nails even more interesting to look at, what color will they be now? But to be honest... I kinda wish they would've left out the thermal effect, I just love the dark look when it's cold! What's your favorite look, dark, dark&shiny, or warmed up blue?

You can buy the Mortal Kombat collection on the Dance Legend website and in various webshops.

Anna Gorelova by Dance Legend: Gamayun & Binary top coat

Howdy! I recently showed you Bogeyman from the Anna Gorelova Winter collection, but the collection has a lot more beauties and I received another one, called Gamayun or Гамаюн. I also received the Binary top coat and have already shared some about it in previous posts, but let's see how it handles a textured polish!

Dance Legend Anna Gorelova 15 Gamayun

Dance Legend Anna Gorelova 15 Gamayun

Gamayun is a beautiful, champagne colored texture that leans a bit rose, and it's a holographic too! The holo effect is quite subtle and fine on the nail, although I haven't seen it in sunlight yet. This was 3 thin coats, but you can get away with 2 thicker as well.

Dance Legend Anna Gorelova 15 Gamayun

All polishes from this collection come with a big ring in the same polish. Unfortunatly I had to flash to show some of the holo effect, but I guess this gives an idea of the fine effect anyway :)

I've used the Binary top coat for pretty much all my recent manicures, from glitters to nail art, it handles it all very well. But I've been using Seche Vite for many years now, and I think it's hard to compete with that! I've tried others but usually quickly end up going back to using SV... but Binary actually stood its ground. To compare the 2:

• Binary is thinner than SV and with that, you get a thinner endresult (great for nailart with several layers) as well as a smooth application. So far it hasn't thickened at all, while with SV I do need to use nail polish thinner after a little while.
• Both dry fast, I haven't checked them side by side, but I don't think they differ much, else I assume I would've noticed it. So yes, Binary dries fast enough for me to keep using it.
• Binary comes in a 15ml bottle, SV in a 14ml. I do prefer the SV bottle, because the Binary bottle is a little bit higher and I feel like I have to fish for polish a tad bit more. And I definitely prefer the clear glass bottle that SV has, if there's anything I use a lot it's top coat, and I'd rather see in advance when I need to restock!
• Binary can easier drag little streakes in nail art than SV (also when applying it floating), but it's nothing dramatic - else I wouldn't have used it for my nail arts. And on the other side, I haven't had a single case of shrinkage with Binary. It's one of the biggest issues that SV gives at times, and I usually prevent that with wrapping my tips with top coat. But I know that isn't the solution for everyone, and Binary doesn't need that little extra effort, which is nice.
• Binary might be thinner, but has no problem creating a smooth surface! It just needed 2 coats for a smooth and shinyyyyy result on this textured polish :)

So in short: I've been using it a lot recently, and I will keep doing so, I enjoy having both of them! I think it's a great top coat, it definitely gets the Oooh, Shinies! stamp of approval =)

Pink-Pink-Pink!

Hi guys! The more I use Dance Legend #1035 (swatched here), the more I fall in love with it, it's such a beautiful pink, and SO perfect for nailart! So here's another mani with that as base, and I stamped it twice with more pink colors. I'm very happy with how this one turned out ♥

Dance Legend #1035 with CND Muddy Rose, Manhattan 46Q and UberChic Beauty plate UC-1-01

The Manhattan polish is a bit sheer for stamping, and that makes it look more pink. When you wear it on itself it's more shimmery bordeaux red, but for this stamping I think it works well like this. And the CND is one of those polishes that I haven't used in way too long, I kinda forgot about it but it's a great polish! I stamped with that one first, then used the Manhattan on top and turned the image around. The result was better than I'd hoped, and makes me want to double stamp everything, haha! Hope you'll like it as much as I do, and I wish you a fantastic weekend :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Valentine Trio

Gooood morning :) Today I have swatches of the Femme Fatale Cosmetics Valentine Trio for you. I know Valentine's Day is over, but this trio can be worn any day really, these clearly ain't your average V-day polishes with pink and hearts and all that!

Starting with Fool's Paradise, showing 3 coats with top coat here. This is a clear base absolutely packed with all kinds of sparkly stuff! I don't even know where to start here, there's lots of gold, a copper shimmer, holographic microglitter and slightly larger holo glitter. It leans from lighter gold to more of a brownish gold. Very unique and oh so distracting when it's on your nails!

Next we have Star-Crossed Lovers, again 3 coats with top coat. This is like a red-based berry/purple kinda color, with such a strong blue shimmer that it looks like a blue-based purple. Am I making any sense here? :) Again lots of holographic sparklies! This one was a bit thicker and applied slightly less smooth, and I tend to slap on my polish at times, which doesn't help. But if you apply it with care, it's no problem.

Last is my favorite of the bunch, it's called Rich In Beauty. I used 4 thin coats here with top coat - needless to say, I'd layer it next time! It's a clear base packed with holographic glitter, champagne colored glitter, and purple shimmer. I think this'll look great when layered over black, to show the purple shimmer even more, or over some lighter color to help it reach opacity easier. But I'm sure it'll be great for glittery gradients as well!

What do you think of this somewhat unusual Valentine's set? The Valentine Trio presale has ended already (unfortunately these didn't arrive here in time), but you can probably still find them in webshops that sell Femme Fatale Cosmetics. And you can always check out the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website for more information :) Thanks for looking and have a lovely day!

UberChic Beauty stamping plates Collection 1

Heya :) I already showed you the 2nd collection plates from UberChic Beauty in my previous post, and today I have the other set for you. And yes, these are awesome too! I wanted to try out a very fine-lined image, to see how those work with these plates, and here's how that turned out:

Essence Enter Wonderland with A England Camelot, UberChic Beauty UC1-01 and BornPrettyStore Super Matte

And here are the 3 plates from this collection! Just like the other collection, these plates are 9.5x14.5cm and the images themselves are 1.7x2.1cm (perfect for longer nails too!), and you can also find the size on my stamping plate comparison. The plates have a protective cover on the back as well. You can click the images below for an enlargement.

UberChic Beauty collection 1 plate 1-01

The image that I used for this mani is on the left of this plate, but this plate has several images that I tested already, there are so much lovely images here! And I don't think it'll come as a surprise that I adore that swirly image in the middle :) But the image below the one that I used today, and the one to the right of it, are high on my to-use list as well.

UberChic Beauty collection 1 plate 1-02

Oh my... where to start! I'll keep it short: loveloveLOVE this plate! And yes, those fine-lined ones all stamp perfect :)

UberChic Beauty collection 1 plate 1-03

More swirled images and some geometric ones as well, ahh I can't wait to play more with these! The one in the right row, 3rd from the top, or the middle image below the flower should find their way onto my nails real soon! So yeah, expect more of them on my blog in the coming period ^^
