Taupe & glitters

Earlier today my sister was visiting with my niece, and thanks to her little girl showing interest in my polish, I noticed this glitter polish standing in the back of the drawer. It's so easy to forget about some polishes if you have a lot! But as soon as I had it in my hands, I knew I wanted to wear it again, and with a taupe base. And there's one taupe that I love more than all the others, so that was an easy choice :) Here's the result!

China Glaze Below Deck with China Glaze Your Present Required and BPS Super Matte.

I just love Below Deck, the color, the application, the coverage, all of it! The glitter that I used it packed with various colors and sizes glitter, and I dabbed it on my nails, adding more and more to the tips of my nails. Top coat to even things out, matte top coat to finish it off. What do you think of this combo, and do you often find polish in your stash that you forgot about? Thanks for looking :)

Dance Legend Бабай - Bogeyman

Good evening :) I just changed the blog a bit, to show more posts on the frontpage, with a preview and a 'read more' option below them. Hope you'll find it handy to see more manis on the frontpage! Today's polish is from the Anna Gorelova Winter collection by Dance Legend, and it's a lovely matte polish.

The polish is called Бабай, it's #20 from the collection and its English name is Bogeyman according to the Dance Legend website (where you can also buy this polish). Bogeyman has a very dark, brown base, with lots of sparkly red & green shimmer and bronze flakes. It covered in 2 easy coats, dried really fast, and well... if you like dark polish, this should definitely be in your wishlist! :) I think dark polish is often a bit simple, like a creme or shimmer (which can still be very pretty, don't get me wrong!), but Bogeyman isn't like that at all. The 2 colors of shimmer are quite visible and those flakies catch the light a bit. Beautiful!

All the Anna Gorelova by Dance Legend polishes come in a cute box (which I already showed in a previous post) with the same little owl as on the bottle, but this collection also comes with a ring that's made of the polish! It's a bit too big for my liking, but it's great to stare at nevertheless, so pretty! :D
And here's how Bogeyman looks with a layer of Binary top coat (also from Dance Legend), the shimmer comes to life more and it looks a lot different! 2 for the price of 1 =)

Dance Legend Bellagio & NY NY

Hi all! Here's 2 more shades from Dance Legend, this time from their Las Vegas collection. Both of these have a clear base and can be used for layering, but I'm showing them on their own today. They covered in 3 thin coats, and my swatches are with 1 layer of their Binary top coat.

Dance Legend Bellagio.

Bellagio is a bit hard to describe for me, because it's SO sparkly and shiny! But I'd say Bellagio is a blue-based lilac microglitter, which has a lot of silvery-golden microglitter as well as slightly coarser copper glitter.

Dance Legend NY NY.

NY NY mainly looks golden/green/blue, but look closer and you'll see some purple in it as well. I bet this looks gorgeous in a gradient! Also, am I the only one who now has Frank Sinatra in her head? :)

The collection has 12 Las Vegas themed glitters, and can be found on the Dance Legend website and in other webshops.

Mint kissed Sonya

A while ago I had a month packed with Dance Legend posts, and the coming weeks that'll be the case once more! I recently received a big box filled with polish, making me feel very lucky, followed by lots of ooohhh's and aahhh's, because they sure know how to make polish!

I'm starting with #18 from the Binary collection, a dark teal with subtle shimmer. It covered in 2 easy coats, and as far as I can tell based on my swatches; it doesn't stain at all. Yay for that! My swatches are with top coat, I used the Binary top coat from Dance Legend, and I'll be posting more about that some other time as well :)

And here's Sonya with 1 coat of Mint Kiss. Mint Kiss has lots of golden microglitter, very small white bar glitter, and white and mint blue hexagonal glitter. Again finished with Binary top coat.

4 Born Pretty plates (and 2 manis!)

Hi guys! BornPrettyStore shipped some plates to me a while ago, time to show those too. Here's what I did with them, read on for a closer look on the plates and these manis :)

This must be the longest image in my collection, haha!

You know I like those floral patterns :)

 Cute images in the middle, but the one on the top steals the show for me!


More on the plates below, let's have a look at what I made with them first, shall we? Starting with a mani that's bold & sparkly, holo glitters with black stamping:

But of course I couldn't resist going for a mani that's a bit more like me as well :)

OPI My Vampire Is Buff with A England Virgin Queen and Born Pretty 01.

And yes, Virgin Queen really worked like a charm for stamping! ♥

The plates all had the protecting blue foil at the front (which easily came off) and a thin, black cover on the back. So these ain't sharp at all. And as you can see above, the images transferred well, even some those tiny dots around the snowflakes ended up on my nails. In short, the quality looks good to me!

But... there's 2 things that I feel I need to mention here. Firstly, the images shown on the BPS site are close, but not completely the same as the images on my plates. There's a little bit variation in some of the little images, and by the looks of it, of the sizes of some images. I'm not sure which version of the plate you'd get after ordering, but since I've had these for a while (and yes, I'm sorry for not showing them sooner!), I guess it would be the ones shown on their site!

The second thing is that some of these images are a bit small and/or short. I've of course updated my stamping plate comparison, but the images I'm aiming at here are the full nail images at plate 08 (the 3 in the center are smaller than my nails, and several of them are on the short side as well) and plate 05 (wide enough, but a bit short). However, on the plates shown on their site, these images seem a lot bigger and look like a good size to me! If I find out more about these plates and what version you'd get, I'll update this post.

"I have one of these (05) and its updated version, I also have 02 and 09 both old and new version. The ones with "born pretty" engraved and black backing are older versions and aren't sold anymore. The newer ones, the ones currently on the website, have "BP-" engraved and white backing with the name and the link of the store written over it. The images on newer ones are quite larger."

Fingers crossed for Abby!

Morning lovelies :) Just a quick fosterupdate: Abby is gonna get visitors on Tuesday already, that went so fast! I so hope it's a match and she'll finds her forever home that day! I'll post a bigger update on my fosterblog sometime soon and keep it shorter here, but she's doing absolutely fantastic. She's making little bits of progress every day, dares to show more and more of herself (and less of the snappy behaviour she showed, especially to my cats), and she's also learning that I'm not a scary thing when walking around. In fact, this morning she was sitting on the stairs and I ended up stepping over her because she wouldn't move, haha! She's really a little adult already, still has some kittenmoments but also packs plenty of character and a will of her own. Picking her up goes so much better already, and she absolutely loves to cuddle :)

I don't have as much pictures of her as I'd like, because she's a bit impressed by the camera at times, and other times she just can't sit still! She's often too busy with playing or cuddling with me :D

See, a lot of pictures end up like this! ^^

She's a pretty little lady :)

I hope for her sake that this is the last you'll be seeing of her here, but I'd miss her for sure! It's so special to see a foster improve ♥ And speaking of special, do you remember Mobi, the kitten with the amputated leg? Here's one of the posts where I showed him. I received a big update on him, he's doing awesome and looks like that too! It's really heartwarming to see how one of those tiny kittens grew up to become a healthy & happy cat with a bright future ahead of him, together with his feline friends and their wonderful home! I'm glad I could be a part of his start in life :)

I'll start swatching a bunch of Dance Legends again this week, and there's some BPS plates still waiting for review as well, so you'll see me again soon :) Have a lovely Sunday!
