Triple stripes

For this mani I started with a light blue base, stamped a striped image in white, then again in medium blue, and then yet again in dark blue. I stamped the image in the same direction with each color, but varied the direction from color to color. Very easy, and very forgiving, so it's perfect for practicing stamping as well!

I wasn't sure on the last color, because the white and blue on blue looked nice and a bit more subtle (and you know I love subtle!), but I couldn't resist trying a triple stamp! I like it, but I think I'll use the color combo again sometime without the darkest blue. Thanks for looking and take care :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Snow White inspired collection

Howdy! Femme Fatale Cosmetics will have yet another presale soon, this time it's a collection that's inspired by Grimm's Snow White story. The collection has 7 polishes and will be up for presale next week!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Art Of Witchcraft

Starting with one of my favorites: Art Of Witchcraft. A teal base with strong red flash and tons of holographic sparkle, that covered in 2 smooth coats.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Art Of Witchcraft

What's not to love! ♥

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glass Coffin

Next we have Glass Coffin, a light purple base with a red/green flash, but the red isn't so visible while the green flash is stronger irl than on my pics.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glass Coffin

I started swatching this collection earlier this week, but wasn't feeling well, so I stopped. Then I got sick and didn't swatch the others until a few days later, but this was one of the first I swatched. I guess I must've been more foggy in my head than I thought at that moment, because it wasn't until I started sorting the pictures, that I realized this is a thermal, oops! :D While swatching I thought it was the lighting or my camera being weird, lol!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glass Coffin

I don't have proper hot/cold pics of this one, and I'm sorry for that, but my head still isn't in the mood for more polish and remover fumes. I haven't seen it fully warm yet either, so I'm not fully sure on the colorshift (I think it'll go further blue/green instead of purple), although here you can see quite a nice difference already! I'll swatch this again sometime, but wanted to show it now anyway :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glass Coffin

Glass Coffin covered in 3 thin coats and dries up matte, not chalkboard matte but velvet matte, lovely! Most of my swatches are with top coat, because I wanted to see what that did for the shimmer, but here you can see it without.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glass Coffin

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Weed In Her Heart

Weed In Her Heart is the polish that covered the least for me, this is 4 thin coats, any less showed more visible nail lines. I think 3 will be fine too to get this result, if you apply thicker coats. It's a squishy green, leaning blue, with strong purple shimmer.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Bodice Lace

Now Femme Fatale Cosmetics is very good at making polish that's a bit beyond my camera, because there's SO much awesome stuff going on in a lot of these, but this one beats them all! My photos show Bodice Lace way too bright purple, it's a bit darker purple with a hint of grey, packed with magenta pink glitter and tiny colorful flakies.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Bodice Lace

This is 3 coats, and as with all of these polishes, the application was smooth and easy. No glitters piling on the tips, there's plenty glitters in the polish, and 1 layer of top coat is enough.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Bodice Lace

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

I used 3 coats of Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall... but 2 slightly thicker would've been fine too. It's a pale green with strong pink/purple shimmer (gotta love those FFC shimmers!) and lots of small and larger hexagonal, silver holographic glitter.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

Even though it's absolutely packed with glittery goodness, it doesn't dry as gritty as you might expect, and 1 layer of top coat is enough to give a smooth finish.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Poisoned Apple

Oh my... Another favorite, Poisoned Apple, another polish that covered in 2 easy coats. A beautiful teal blue base with a red/green duochrome effect on top, filled with oh so tiny silver sparkles. Yum!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Who Is Fairest Of Them All?

The 2nd thermal in this collection is Who Is Fairest Of Them All?, which is an almost glowing white (warm) to hot pink (cold) polish, with blue flash and small holographic glitter. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get my hands cold enough to take pictures quick enough and fully show the pink. Normally I have fairly cold hands, but even sticking them in the freezer and holding icecream in my hands wasn't a match for my sicky warmth, haha!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Who Is Fairest Of Them All?

Macroshot of medium warm pink color.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Who Is Fairest Of Them All?

This was about as cold as I could get it while swatching, but nevertheless, I think it shows well that this is an obvious thermal! The pink shows almost neon here, which isn't the case irl, but that blue shimmer confuzed my camera I guess :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Who Is Fairest Of Them All?

When I think of Snow White, I'd personally think of different colors (I think of her dress and hair straight away), but that doesn't make these any less beautiful of course! This Snow White inspired collection sure has some fairy tale polishes in it :) FFC really knows how to create magic in a bottle with their shimmers and colorflashes and sparkles ♥ The presale is from April 1-5 on the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website, and you can find the FFC pretties in various webshops as well.

I hope you'll have a great weekend and thank you for visiting my blog :)

JORD Wood Watch - review & giveaway!

Hi lovelies! I am SO excited about this post! Not only did I get the opportunity to review a beautiful and unique JORD Wood Watch, I get the opportunity to host a giveaway for a gift certificate from JORD as well, yay! More on that below, let's look at my mani and the watch I chose first :)

JORD Wood Watch Ely Black, Dance Legend Bogeyman with Essence Mystic Wish!, Bundle Monster BM-312 and BornPrettyStore Super Matte

JORD Wood Watch Ely Black

I recently got contacted by JORD Wood Watch, and got to pick a watch for review. I can tell you that wasn't easy at all! They offer a bunch of designs and they all come in a variety of woods. There were several watches that got my attention, but I ended up going for the Ely watch. This specific watch comes in 4 types of wood, and I think they're all gorgeous! The Cherry color jumped out to me at first, but I decided to go for the Ely in Black, because I felt it'll match better with all kinds of outfits. The lighter colors look lovely as well, but I was afraid they'd make me a little more pale and get a yellow tint, like clothes in such colors often do. I'm not sure if that worry was justified though, since the natural material really makes a big difference in the whole look I noticed, but either way, I'm very happy with my choice! The Black Ely watch is even better in real life and I fell in love with it straight away ♥

The watch comes in a beautiful packaging, that matches the natural, sturdy look of the watches. The attention for detail really shows, in the packaging but especially on the watch. The watch has JORD logos on the sidebutton, on the inside of the case and on the back, where you close it. The inside is made of wood as well as you can see, which is good news for people with allergies, combined with the stainless steel I doubt you'd get a reaction to this watch! Each piece is unique as well, because of the wood grain. The watch opens and closes easily, and I love how you're not looking at the lock but have a completely wooden wristband. When the wristband is unlocked, it's bigger than my hand, so putting it over my hand is easy. When it's closed it fits like a charm :)

I went with a mani that compliments the natural look of the watch, with subtle flakes and stamping. And say hi to my right hand! :D I think this watch deserves something special, so I had a go at using the delayed action shutter on my camera. That was something new for me and a challenge with getting the settings sorted, haha!

I think it's amazing what the wood does for this watch, it's a bigger watch but thanks to the natural material, it'll match with almost anything, including a more delicate look. And another thing that I noticed straight away, it's very light and feels very comfortable as well! When I mentionned a wooden watch to my boyfriend, he wondered if it wouldn't be squeeky between the links or anything like that (I hope I'm making sense here, he explained it better and it did make sense to me, haha), but nope :) I don't often wear a lot of jewelry, but this felt so natural straight away, it's smooth, light, pretty and did I already mention that I love it? ^^

Dance Legend Excalibur & Sword Of Mercy

Hey hey :) Here's 2 polishes of the Dance Legend Steel collection, a collection with 12 metallic polishes. When I think of metallics, I think of stamping, so of course I had to test stamping with these! They do work, however, these 2 aren't 1-coaters and are slightly thin, so I'll list them as somewhat sheer on my stamping polish page. I think they might be less suited for images with large areas, on such images it shows better when a polish isn't covering as well, and on darker basecolors, where you'd want perfect coverage. You'll find swatches and more about these 2 stamped manis further down!

Dance Legend Excalibur

Dance Legend Excalibur

Excalibur covered in 2 thicker coats, and is shown here without base/top coat. As always with metallics, little bumps and ridges on the nail show well, and a ridgefilling basecoat would help to make the result as smooth as possible.

Again 2 thicker coats, no base/top coat. In case you're wondering, the less good transfers (like the little holes in the dots here and there) aren't caused by these polishes or the plate, but by me trying to work with plastic scrapers! I've always used metal scrapers, and no matter what kind of plastic a scraper is made of, I tend to scrape worse with it, getting small gaps in the design. But I'd rather not damage my plates anymore, so I figured to keep practicing :) The dotted image below is one that I didn't really notice before, it didn't stand out between the other designs on the plate, yet when I noticed it I wondered why. It's such a cute and easy dotted image! I think I'll be using it again soon, don't you think it'll be perfect for a pastel Spring mani?

If you love metallics, this collection offers you various colors, and even though they're a bit thin, they aren't runny and apply easily. They dry fast as well, so that's all fine! But if you use metallics just for stamping, I'd choose other ones, simply because I don't think these'll work as well on all colors and with all images. Thanks for looking!

As always, you can find the Dance Legend polishes on their website and in various other webshops.

A sparkly start of the weekend!

Hi lovelies, the polishes that I'm showing today are from Dance Legend's City Lights collection, which is a collection with 6 glitter polishes. All of these polishes have colorshifting squares as far as I can tell, and some of the polishes pack a gorgeous shimmer as well! Here are the 2 that I received:

Dance Legend World Up highway

Dance Legend World Up

Dance Legend World Up.

Dance Legend World Up

World up has a clear red base with fiery glitters, that builds up nicely to complete coverage. You can layer these polishes as well though! I used 3 coats here, but next time I'd go for thinner coats, the final result could've been thinner (yeah, I have a bad habit of applying glitters a little too enthusiastic! :)). There's plenty glitter in the polish, so it wasn't an issue at all to get enough glitters on the nail and have an even result, and 1 layer of top coat was enough to get a smooth finish.

Dance Legend World Up

I doubt it'll come as a surprise that I mattified it as well =)
